This notice explains, in line with Art. 13 GDPR, how personal data is processed on this website.

No cookies

This website sets no cookies of its own, uses no browser storage for tracking and embeds no third-party content such as maps, videos or booking widgets. Fonts are served from our own server; there is no connection to third-party font services.

Hosting and server logs

The website is delivered as a static site via Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA). When you visit, Cloudflare processes technically necessary connection data (IP address, date and time, requested address, browser and operating system details) to deliver the site and fend off attacks. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in secure and fast operation (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Cloudflare is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, and a data processing agreement with EU standard contractual clauses is in place. We do not store any log files ourselves.

Audience measurement with Cloudflare Web Analytics

To see how many visits our pages get and how fast they load, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. Each page loads a small script from static.cloudflareinsights.com that sends the page visited, the referring page, technical browser details and load times to Cloudflare; your IP address is processed for technical reasons. The script sets no cookies and uses no local storage. We only see aggregated statistics. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. You can object by blocking the script in your browser.

Booking buttons and redirects

The booking buttons lead via an internal redirect page (/go/…) to the booking site: for 15 inns to Booking.com (Booking.com B.V., Amsterdam), for 6 inns to Trip.com. The redirect page already connects to the target address when it loads, which transmits your IP address and technical browser details to the operator of that address. Once you reach the booking site, its own privacy policy applies; cookies are only set by the booking site on its own domain.

For inns with a Booking.com page, the redirect runs through the affiliate network CJ Affiliate (responsible in Europe: Epsilon International UK Ltd; privacy policy: cj.com). Your IP address, technical browser data, the referring page and an identifier we assign (inn and language, nothing about you) are sent to CJ’s click domain so that a booking can be credited to our account. Processing may take place in the USA, based on standard contractual clauses. If the connection to CJ fails, for example because of an ad blocker, we redirect you straight to Booking.com without tracking. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in funding this site through commissions (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Contact by email

If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message solely to handle your enquiry (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer needed and no retention obligations apply.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing based on legitimate interests, as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. No automated decision-making within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place.
